Would you like to go deep-sea angling? Book an exciting day of deep sea angling with Robert Hemphill, Garden Route Fishing's designated deep-sea charter operator. Robert is the owner of a small deep-sea charter operation that gives hands-on attention to each individual person boarding his vessel. He has been chartering his operation for twenty years and he launches his boat out of Kaaimans river mouth or Gerickes Point at Segefield.

Robert has been a boat captain for about twenty years and has all the relevant qualifications for this adventure. He is a Springbok/Protea fisherman with an international gold medal and is also a world EFSA champion with fair knowledge and experience when it comes to angling.

The fish he targets all year round mainly consists of bottom fish i.e. Cob, Salmon, Musselcracker, Snapper and general reef fish and shark. Fishing on his vessel is strictly controlled according to set bag limits. All sharks are released and general bottom fish are kept for consumption. Digital photographs and video footage will be taken during the trip if requested and offered to the client at no additional charge.

The length of the fishing charter depends on the general weather conditions and of course on the client. The fishing trips normally last up to six hours and can be extended if so wished. All trips are undertaken on a 6,5m Buttcatt deep-sea craft with two 85hp Yamaha motors. Safety always first.
